MISS LIS is easily able to tow 250’ x 72’ barges loaded with jackets and top sections at 8 knots, supporting derrick barge operations in the Gulf of Mexico oil fields. This tug has also towed a number of 300 x 90 barges fully laden with pipe. It has been vetted and approved by oil field majors as meeting their criteria for offshore projects including BP’s Thunderhorse and other deep-water sites. Because of the tug’s shallow draft, it has also towed 400 x 100 barges and other large vessels in and out of the shallow bayous and rivers of southeastern Louisiana to load terminals in New Iberia, Morgan City, etc.
