Raised in the coastal town of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, Ryan developed an early appreciation for the maritime industry while working on the waters of the Gulf of Maine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University, where he spent four years working in the university's business office while completing his degree.

Following graduation, Ryan attended Maine Maritime Academy to earn his Able Seaman (AB) credentials before joining TradeWinds Towing. Beginning his career on deck provided invaluable hands-on experience and a firsthand understanding of the operational demands of ocean towing, laying the foundation for his transition ashore into operations management.

Today, as Vice President of Operations, Ryan oversees the planning and execution of TradeWinds' towing operations, working closely with customers, crews, and project partners to ensure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. His combination of practical vessel experience and business expertise helps keep TradeWinds' operations running smoothly from initial planning through project completion.
