Ted Dominguez

Director of Safety & Compliance

Hailing from Scottsdale, Arizona, Ted Dominguez left the desert for the United States Coast Guard, where he served for over 21 years in various operational and command roles, retiring in 2020. He served as a rescue boat coxswain at multiple search and rescue stations on more than 10 different boat types along the New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Gulf coasts, as well as spending over eight years at sea throughout the Atlantic and Caribbean on three different cutters as a Deck Watch Officer and Federal Law Enforcement Boarding Officer.

Ted brings not only experience and knowledge from the USCG but also deckplate experience that allows him to effectively relate to crews and develop practical policies. Ted joined the TradeWinds team in 2021 as Director of Safety and Compliance, serving in roles including Designated Person Ashore, Company Security Officer, and Cybersecurity Officer. As a certified Coast Guard Subchapter M surveyor, and through his service on the TPO's Board of Directors and several safety and security committees with AWO, Ted helps ensure that TradeWinds Towing remains at the forefront of maritime compliance, safety, and security measures.
